The horror of Sin

Independence Day

Wed Nov 11, 2009, 5:33 AM
Today in my country there is an event celebrated as Independence Day.

And this is sad.

Because we have no independence anymore. After signing the Treaty of Lisbon, Poland is now officially gone. In it's place there will be formed one country called the European Union. And our new government is in Brussels. We will have to accept everything they order us to do. Our land has been sold. Along with the people.

And today we are celebrating tha day of Independence...

Now, if any of you is aware what is going on in Europe, than you all know, that things are bad. From what I see, we are to be made slaves to the new forming system, that looks like a revival of communism. We have less and less freedom, Higher taxes, more beaurocracy... We are being more and more controlled and told what to do in such petty little cases, that it's just silly. We have regulations about what kinds of thermometers we are allowed to use. Even some lightbulbs were banned by law, to make us buy different ones.

LIGHTBULBS!!! Can you imagine, what kind of Rulers do we have, who have to put a law regarding the changing of lightbulbs???

Regulations and control.

Imagine what will be next.

But is there anything we should do in those circumstances? I mean, they are turning us into slaves - Already we can't decide whether or not do we want to get insurance - WE HAVE TO GET INSURANCE BY LAW. We can't make decisions. We won't be able to decide about anything! And they are doing this slowly enough that no one would notice. One more oppressing law at a time, one more hidden tax at a time...
But it is happening. Just like it was under Russian occupation.

One would think that when it will get really ugly, we should do something about it. I mean, we have been through communism once and I think it was enough. Somebody should get up and like, fight for our rights. Fight for freedom.

We have a right to decide, right? be free and fight. right?

So I thought.

Then I recalled what the Bible has to say about that:

"Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. 2Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favoritism."
- colossians 3:22-25

"Were you a slave when you were called? Don't let it trouble you - although if you can gain your freedom, do so. For he who was a slave when he was called by the Lord is the Lord's freedman; similarly, he who was a free man when he was called is Christ's slave. You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men. Brothers, each man, as responsible to God, should remain in the situation God called him to."
- 1 Corinthians 7,22-24

Simply: You happen to be a slave? Than just do your job.

But what is more difficult is another parts of the scripture:

"All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that God's name and our teaching may not be slandered."
- 1 Timothy 6,1

See, obeying is one thing, but to respect my masters and consider them worthy of all respect... That is hard. We have a tradition of disrespecting our rulers. Yet that is what the Bible commands us to do.

There was a time when I thought that it applies only to good kings and good masters to obey them and honour them. But when they get ungodly, we have a right to overthrow them and put some God fearing authority in their place. That's what the american revolutionists did!

And yet, the Bible is so categorically clear:

"Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect,

not only to those who are good and considerate,

but also to those who are harsh.

For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God. But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps."

- 1 Peter 2:18-21

So what it says is basically that we were born for this - to suffer because of our harsh and unjust masters (presidents, senators, etc.). And it's part of that suffering, that we have to pay them all due respect, because it was God who appointed them in the first place.
And rebelling against them would be equal rebelling against God.

We have had democracy. Now we will have slavery. So be it. We can use all the legal means to slow it down, but we can never interrupt the process by rebellion. Our Government has the right tu rule over us. If they want to make us slaves, they have the right to do so.

I don't like it, but it's just the way it is.

I was willing to obey God a s a free man. I will obey Him as a slave as well.

Meanwhile, let's just enjoy those leftovers of freedom we still have.

Chris†ianity's not just a religion like the others, but a relationship with the One who created us through His love, even died for us on the cross, taking away our sins; and proving He's God by His resurrection! [link]

You share the word of God. Men will hate you. The world will despise you... But you are loved of God.

The fruit of the Spirit is a beautiful thing, and Truth is wonderous to those whom God grants to behold it. I wish I could find more on dA to be as honest and bold as what I've seen thus far from you here.

Shine on! I'm going to put you on my watchlist. :)
